2nd August James Howe (1946)

American author, James Howe is well-known for his Bunnicula series of books, but in my library he is known for two other series, Houndsley and Catina (illustrated by Marie-Louise Gay) and the Horace, Morris and Delores series about three school friends which are illustrated by Amy Walrod. Neither of these are 'big' series yet, but you get the feeling that there is probably more to come. The books about Horace, Morris and Delores are:
  • Horace and Morris, but Mostly Dolores (1999)
  • Horace and Morris Join the Chorus, but What About Dolores (2002)
  • Horace and Morris Say Cheese (Which Makes Dolores Sneeze!) ( 2009)
He also does stand alone picture books such as the beautiful I Wish I Were a Butterfly which is illustrated by Ed Young.
